Dennis is dividing his visit between Nana's place and Aunty Di, which meant Dennis left here this afternoon and DP was devastated. Fortunately, everyone reconnects tomorrow for more fun and family time until big brother returns to Iowa. I really felt sorry for DP, it wasn't too hard remembering how I felt when beloved, visiting relatives had to leave.
Mom always hated to say good-bye, because she had to say it so often in her childhood. And she would not say good-bye. When we visited her farm, she often sat in the window to watch us drive away, but she would not wave. We would be talking on the phone and at the end of the conversation, she hung up. No "good-bye," or "see you later," just click...buzz. It was a bit humorous at the time, but now, as I get older, I appreciate and understand her reasons.
